By: Chandler, Editor-In-Chief For new players, unfortunately, getting scammed is going to likely be a part of their journey at some point or another. YoNews would like to share some common scams that can hopefully save a few people from experiencing one and losing out on things they have worked hard for. The event category hosts the majority of scams in the game. Never pay to play a game in the event section, and never pay to re-enter a game. People will get kicked before the prize is given almost always in those cases. Though these events have dwindled down a little, 'doubling coins' events still make occasional appearances. These are always a scam, so make sure to never participate in those events. Another common scam is unusual or suspicious links. Links sent by people you do not know should immediately give people red flag warnings, because some of them can be ways for hackers to take over accounts completely, not just some coins. If a website is offering free items, or coins/yocash, it is likely faulty. Granted, there will occasionally be websites, like the upcoming priceguide, that will provide a unique rewards system, however, the site will never ask for the username or password to any specific account, like Facebook for example. Players will create a separate username and password for the priceguide account, though even that will not be required to use the priceguide. Another key thing to look for in a lot of these suspicious websites and posts are spelling and grammar. If anything seems suspicious, have extreme caution. The overall message is very simple. If something seems too good to be true, it likely is. Big Viking Games has implemented some great safety features that can help protect your YoWorld account, which you can find in the YoWorld Forums, or in the settings tab within the game itself. Even with the features BVG has provided, people still need to be extremely cautious, because the Vikings cannot restore any lost coins/yocash/items from scams. If you see a scam or unfortunately experienced a scam, click the player, and report them. Doing so will at least notify the Vikings, and put them under their radar. Decorating in YoWorld can be challenging, but hopefully these simple hacks will make it just a little simpler! Sometimes the smallest item can make the biggest difference. Designing a room is a lot about coordination, and where you place things. I relate decorating to photography. You don't want too much negative space, positive space, or too much contrast. Accent's are good, but too much can make the room look very loud, which may not be what you want to accomplish. The first tip I'd give is to have a color scheme picked out for the room. If a lot of the base furniture you're using is white, pull out one or two accent colors to draw attention to certain aspects of the room. I would suggest using calm tones for the base of the room, and louder and more brighter tones for accents. Finding the right accent items is key as well. For a living room, some great accent items would include throw pillows, curtains, table decor, and rugs. The next tip is to have a central focus in the room. You can easily design a room where you have a couch/tv area, a writing area, and a small dining area. The first thought that is likely to pop in your head is to draw focus on the couch/tv area, but with the right perspective, you can put the focus on the writing area. Sometimes using an extravagant piece can do this, or making the writing area somewhat busy, and realistic- a desk, chair, lots of books, magazines, maybe a coffee cup.... Small, filler items are what make a room, well, a room! My third, and final tip is to use greenery! This sounds almost cheesy to say, but when in doubt, throw a plant in the room! Potted plants, vases, flower pots, herbs on a shelf... Bigger potted plants are great for corner walls, where it tends to be harder to decorate. I typically put 1-2 plants at minimum in a room. It makes it feel a lot warmer, and more realistic looking. At the end of the day, perspective can be received in a variety of ways on how you want your room to look, but using some of these tips can hopefully save you from having a bad decorating experience. Finding ways to earn coins can be a struggle, especially with the prices of todays' items. There are a couple methods to earn coins that are very efficient, and can get you a good amount of coins. The first method is to download the YMCA app. That is the YoWorld Mobile Companion App. If you play consecutively, you can earn upwards of 40K a day! I get 24K a day just from the daily log in bonus, and then you can watch ads to earn coins on there, and also there is a "free coin bonus" that you can claim every four hours. What I like to do is build my coins up on there and then transfer them to the main game. On a weekly basis, I transfer around 300K YoCoins! The second method would be to buy and sell. This can be a bit tricky if you are not familiar with how the game works. My best advice is to stalk the Auction House. You can often find great deals in there, but you have to be quick, because there are many other people doing the exact same thing! Look at the "Auction House AVG" to get a general idea of the price of that particular item so you know what to sell it for. My third and final method is to purchase YoCash items right when they come out, and sell them for about 35-40K per YoCash. For example. If a six YoCash handheld comes out, sell it for 240K in the Auction House. It's likely to sell, because of the instant demand for those new items. Now, for this to work, they must be extremely new items, meaning that they came out within a couple hours or less. Anything longer than that will start to decrease in value for you to gain profit. I hope you all found these couple little tips and tricks useful and if you don't already use them, try to if you can! Let us know how you make your coins on our facebook page. There are a lot of YoFans out there that use or need a room link, whether it be to post on the YoWorld Forums, send to a contest page, or something different. To retrieve a room link, click the home icon on the lower left hand side of the game-screen, then hover over whichever house you would like, and click "options." Then a new screen will show up, and one tool will be labeled "link." Double click the link shown in the box, hit control C on your keyboard, and then paste it wherever you'd like.
